Image addicted art director and photographer
"A particular method of imaging that Małgorzata Popinigis uses in her works is based on the combination of two seemingly contradictory elements: cool minimalism and suggestive sensuality. Exploring semantic potential of models and the structural richness of the object, the photographer exposes tension between what is present and what is created; between what is rational and what cannot be easily interpreted or named.
A perspective of "cool surgical vision” (which protects the photographer from falling into banality of eroticism) disturbingly blends with a sense of haptic dimension of reality: body and object. The friction caused by encountering two opposing spheres - sensuality and restraint - creates a new visual quality and atmosphere, so characteristic of her style."
